I don’t know why people are offended thats Markos hippie punches the left side of his own base and calls them the ‘Alt Left’ out of political opportunism at the most inappropriate times. The man was a self admitted LIBERTARIAN before he was a progressive. Every ‘former libertarian-turned-progressive’ that I’ve ever known has been half-assed and off like that. Every Single One Of Them. It clearly is rooted in the same deep cultural bias that distinguishes libertarians from true progressives. Markos cannot and likely will never resolve this inner demon. Markos is drawn to establishment centrism in the Democratic Party, because it is neoliberalism. And neoliberalism is a product of the libertarian-right movement. There really isn’t much difference between the two — Just read the Wiki entry on neoliberalism if you have any doubts. It really is that simple.
