Progressivism is Dead: The End of the American Dream and the coming Constitutional Crisis.

Trump and the GOP are stacking the courts wih regressive, backward thinking activist judges - the American version of the Taliban . Not just anti-lgbt & anti-abortion rights, but also anti-voting rights, anti-civil rights, anti-disability rights, anti-consumer rights, anti-separation of church and state, anti-drug legalization, anti-womens rights, anti-workers rights, anti-everything that makes blue states and districts better than red states and districts.

The lower courts were pretty much the only line of defense that blue states/districts had against red state/district rural majority tyranny, as most progressive victories were won in court and not by legislation, since red districts far out number blue districts. That line of defense is now gone. The GOP under Trump is laying the groundwork for a constitutional crisis, as the half of the US population that is concentrated in cities are being stripped of their primary power. Most of America has yet to realize that we're screwed for a long time - pretty much for the remainder of our lifetimes for anyone older than 30. The average age of a Kossack is around 40 — 50. These are lifetime appointments that can't be undone by voting.  Meanwhile, the Democratic Party establishment is heading into 2018 and 2020 courting red district ConservaDems and Blue Dogs that are sympathetic to the views of these activist right wing Trump appointees and WILL confirm them, so any perceived majority that the Democratic Party could possibly gain from 2018 on is a superficial gain and politically ineffective.  It’s time to admit what an utter failure the Democratic Party was and still is, as far as long term strategical planning. It’s time to admit that we’re entering a very dark era in American politics and nothing can be done about it for at least a generation or two — voting will not save us from what is coming.

"(Trump) inherited a whopping 108 court vacancies when he became president ― double the number of vacancies Obama inherited when he took office. That’s largely due to Republicans’ years-long strategy of denying votes to Obama’s court picks to keep those seats empty for a future GOP president to fill. It worked."
